Message from the Dean

Praised be Jesus and Mary!

The College of Arts and Humanities echoes the university’s vision for developing lifelong learners with compassion for service that impacts transformation in a fast-changing society and mission to provide an excellent experience to students to help them become globally competitive and adaptive to change.

The arts and humanities programs drive a desire to share to everyone in the university and the community what it means to be human. Arts and humanities make us be aware of who we are and what we can become to be of help in the society we are in.

Our students articulate the core values Faith, Service, and Excellence of our university. They strive to define their identity by engaging in activities that challenge them to be a true Ignacian Marian leader.

The college is ideal for those who plan and aspire to hone their skills to be readers, writers, thinkers, and psychological first aiders and become a great help in their families, community and the country as a whole in upholding the dignity of persons.

The college equips the students to be the next generation of leaders in the community.

Students are encouraged to join activities organized by the associations in their own field of specializations. They are not only busy in the classrooms for their intellectual activities but they also share their time, talent and presence to our community partners. The college is committed to provide students with an intellectually stimulating and challenging experiences in the classrooms, laboratories (Radio Laboratory, Speech laboratory, Editing Bay, and Psychology Laboratory).

The college is home to four academic programs BA in Communication, BA in English Language Studies, BA in Philosophy (Specializing in Law, Management and Research) and BA in Psychology which follows the policies and standards for undergraduate programs series 2017 prescribed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). These four programs were granted the Level 4 accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).

Our students share in experiences that promote cross-cultural understanding. One of our BA communication students had a one-semester experience as an exchange student at Bangkok University. The college also establishes partnerships with the professional organizations and industry (Communication, Psychology Testing and Clinical Centers, Radio, and business establishments) by participating in the activities conducted by them or through the On-the-Job training of the students. To help the college in maintaining the quality standards the program advisory council for the four programs has been created.

In Christ with love,

Grace Obias – Aoanan, Ph.D
